Legendary MC, Grand Puba, is stepping into a new chapter with the release of Part 1 of his three-part retirement package, set to drop in early May. This first installment marks not just the beginning of the end, but a powerful celebration of a career that has shaped the sound and soul of hip-hop for over three decades.
The album features an eclectic mix of collaborators, including the ever-iconic Kool Keith, rising talent Stunna Gang (Grand Puba’s own son), and the soulful vocals of Bena Dwech. It’s a family affair and a musical evolution, blending eras and styles with seamless artistry.
Adding to the magic is production from Washington DC’s own Cainaan, whose gritty boom bap textures and modern soul touches provide the perfect backdrop for Puba’s timeless flow and thoughtful lyricism.
