Fatman Scoop Has Passed Away At The Age Of 53

Fatman Scoop, born Isaac Freeman III, has unfortunately passed away on August 30th, after suffering a medical emergency while performing in Connecticut. The New York native was hailed as one the best hype men ever, and has left behind an extensive legacy through his prominent music career. He first rose to prominence in 2003, with the release of his single, “Be Faithful”, and has since remained active, collaborating with the likes of Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Lil Jon, Janet Jackson, and Tech N9ne. Fatman Scoop has also collaborated with Blackout’s DJ Phat Phillie and one of Zagreb’s finest, Baby Dooks, on a Massive Töne track, “Komm schon Baby”, in 2005.

Scoop’s family has issued a heartfelt statement, in which they beautifully described him as “a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life.” A vast number of musical colleagues and close friends was left saddened by his sudden passing, many of whom have shared messages, praising his accomplishments and stating his significance in their own lives.

Blackout Hip-Hop sends deep condolences to Isaac Freeman III’s family and friends.

May he rest in peace.
