DJ Premier Releases ‘Beats That Collected Dust, Vol. 3’

If we had a Mount Rushmore for legendary producers, DJ Premier would definitely be one of the faces chiseled into it. With a career spanning more than three decades, DJ Premier has built an impressive portfolio, collaborating with artists across various genres. He’s not just a trendsetter but a true trailblazer, shaping and advancing the music culture.

Adding to his long list of achievements, DJ Premier recently received a Latin Grammy Award nomination for his work on “Le Pido A Dios” with Feid, both as a featured artist and producer. He also made waves with a time-traveling commercial alongside Don Toliver, which MTV used as a segue into the 50th Hip Hop Anniversary tribute performance at the VMA’s.

Back in 2008, Premier dropped the first volume of “Beats That Collected Dust”, a series that has since gained a dedicated fan following. These aren’t just random instrumentals; they’re productions Premier crafted specifically for other artists that never saw the light of day.

After a decade-long hiatus (Volume 2 came out in 2011), DJ Premier has surprised fans with “Beats That Collected Dust, Vol. 3”. Each beat in this new installment comes with its own unique backstory, from its intended recipient to why it ended up gathering “dust.”

Speaking about the project, DJ Premier said, “I enjoy doing something different, and ‘Beats That Collected Dust’ is truly one-of-a-kind. I’ve always been in charge of naming my projects, and this title just fits perfectly. These instrumental volumes are like a unique tool in my arsenal, and I decide to release them when they’ve been sitting around for a while. So, here it is—’Beats That Collected Dust, Vol. 3′, now available on vinyl”.
