DJ Mister Cee and Fatman Scoop honored with street names

In 2024, we’ve unfortunately lost many iconic personas from the Hip-Hop culture. Among them are legendary DJ and producer Mister Cee, and one of the greatest hype men ever, Fatman Scoop. Now, both of them were honored with streets named after them, in their hometown of New York. Fatman Scoop’s “Issac ‘Fatman Scoop’ Freeman III Place” is situated on the corner of 109th St. and 5th Ave. in New York. Classon Ave. & Lafayette Ave. in Brooklyn now carry the name of “DJ Mister Cee Way.”
Rock The Bells Radio personality and Brooklyn legend DJ Mister Cee served as Big Daddy Kane’s DJ, and played an integral part in the signing of the Notorious B.I.G. He was a giant in the mixtape game and iconic in radio. Fatman Scoop was Hip-Hop’s official hype man who worked with some of the biggest artists in the industry including Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey.
