A smooth track from Queensbridge emcee Intelligent Hoodlum, later known as Tragedy Khadafi, with a familiar vocal sample from Soul II Soul‘s Back to Life. Back to Reality is released as a 12″ single in 1990 on A&M Records and Intelligent Hoodlum‘s self-titled debut album the same year.
Other sampled used are I Get Lifted by George McCrae (1974), Hihache by Lafayette Afro Rock Band (1973) and Be Thankful for What You Got by William DeVaughn (1974).
