Dig Of The Day: Backlive – 1000 MCs (1996)
Ya’ll definitely gotta check this out. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this few days ago. There’s also a video for this track I thought of postin’ but at one point volume goes down on the video and the audio is pretty raw, which ain’t that bad in this case.
Here’s a link in case you wanna check it out.
Backlive was an underground Hip Hop group from Miami, Florida in the mid 1990s. The group consisted of rappers G Boy, Dekwan and DJ / Producer Mellow D.
G Boy (Gil Green) also directed the video. 1000 MCs was G Boy’s thesis film project while attending NYU’s Tisch School Of The Arts. The video debuted the Amount Boyz dancers from Fiorello H. La Guardia high school.
This video aired on the last recorded episode of Yo! MTV Raps, BET’s Rap City, and The Box. 1000 MCs (Vinyl, 12″) was released on Backlive Records in 1996.
Produced by G Boy and Mellow D.
Turn the knob to the right ya’ll!
