Rare 1994 EP by De La Soul & A Tribe Called Quest Set For Release
De La Soul are having a well-deserved resurgence. After finally bringing their groundbreaking catalog to streaming platforms in 2023, the legendary hip-hop trio reached a new generation of fans. Younger listeners have embraced their unique lyricism and genre-defying sound, cementing De La Soul’s legacy as one of hip-hop’s most innovative acts.
And now, their catalog is about to grow even bigger. Posdnuos and Maseo, the surviving members of the group, announced on Instagram that they will rerelease Clear Lake Audiotorium, a rare 1994 EP featuring none other than A Tribe Called Quest.
Originally pressed in a limited run of just 500 copies for select DJs, Clear Lake Audiotorium has long been a holy grail for collectors. “The EP has achieved near-mythical status,” the duo explained in their announcement, which will thrill diehard fans and newcomers alike.
The project features standout tracks such as “sh.Fe.Mc’s,” a collaboration between De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, and “Stix & Stonz,” which brings together an impressive lineup of artists from the golden era of hip-hop.
Mark your calendars: Clear Lake Audiotorium will be available on streaming platforms starting March 7, giving fans the chance to experience a piece of hip-hop history that’s been hidden for decades.
