Beats, Rhymes And Videotape (Documentary)
Your favorite rappers, beatmakers, and DJs come together to perform, talk shop, and document a vital era in hip-hop history. Filmed between New York City and Copenhagen from 1994 to 2001, the footage captures raw performances, unfiltered conversations, and the culture as it lived and breathed in real time.
The lineup reads like a golden-era roll call, featuring Gang Starr, Jeru The Damaja, Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, Masta Ace Inc., The Pharcyde, Artifacts, Kool Kim, Kurious, Mad Skills, X-Men, Organized Konfusion, Rampage, Busta Rhymes, and the legendary Stretch & Bobbito. Each appearance adds another layer to the story, blending sharp lyricism, DJ craft, and behind-the-scenes insight.
Shot, interviewed, and edited by Jesper Jensen, the project carries a documentary feel rooted in respect for the culture. Additional camera and sound work was handled by Arthur Cammelbeeck, My Thordal, Lars Hansen, and Anders Knudsen. Copyright belongs to Busybody Films and Jesper Jensen, preserving a time capsule of hip-hop at its most authentic.
