In California’s Ventura County, quite an astounding discovery was made. In a Van Nuys storage unit, once owned by Bryan Loren, a music producer who created the famous Simpsons theme song, a collection of unreleased Michael Jackson recordings was uncovered. The discovered tapes contain twelve songs, recorded between 1989 and 1991, prior to the release of his “Dangerous” album. Perhaps the most interesting one is “Truth on Youth,” a Hip-Hop duet with LL Cool J, which shows Michael’s broad creative diversity.

Sadly, the newly-discovered music will not be released any time soon. Even though they have not claimed ownership of the tapes themselves, The Michael Jackson Estate holds ownership of the master recordings and the release rights, with no imminent plans for publicising the forementioned songs. The tapes will likey be auctioned to private collectors by Gregg Musgrove, the former California Highway Patrol officer who made the discovery.
